Privacy policy
This policy explains how Storywave handles personal data when you use the Storywave app, website, listening links, and related services. Storywave is the service operator for this product.
What we collect
If you browse without signing in, you can discover public stories and use shared listening links. If you create an account, we receive the account identifier, email address, and optional display name or profile photo supplied by your sign-in provider.
We store the creative material you choose to save, including prompts, characters, worlds, story requirements, audiobook metadata, manuscripts, covers, audio, ratings, reading-list choices, and listening progress. If you enable notifications, we store a device notification token so we can deliver generation and library updates. Storywave does not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or an analytics SDK.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, sync your private studio across devices, create and deliver audiobooks you request, save playback state, provide listening links, protect the service, enforce creation limits, notify you about relevant generation events when you opt in, and respond to data requests. Private prompts, characters, and worlds are not included in public listening links. A story becomes public only after you choose to publish it.
Service providers
Storywave uses Firebase services for authentication, database storage, file storage, cloud functions, and optional push notifications. To produce an audiobook, relevant creative input is sent from our server to the configured AI model and text-to-speech providers needed for that request. Providers may process material under their own terms and technical safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Public sharing
When you publish a finished audiobook, its public title, description, cover, narrator information, chapters, and audio may be visible to anyone. Public links do not expose your private writer’s-room memory. Do not publish another person’s private information, likeness, or copyrighted material without the permissions required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and saved studio data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Account deletion is available in the signed-in Account menu in the app and removes the Firebase account, associated private studio data, generation jobs, stored audiobook files, and public Storywave records owned by that account. Limited residual copies may remain in secure backups while they rotate out.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your personal data. You can withdraw notification permission in your device settings. Data protection requests can be started in the app at Account → Legal & privacy; account deletion is available in the signed-in Account menu. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Security and changes
We use authenticated, owner-scoped access rules and server-side controls to protect private studio data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the service changes; the latest version is always available here and in the app.
